शार्दूलचरवृत्तान्तः (Saardula’s Spy-Report on Rama’s Camp and the Vanara Host)
गद्गदस्यैवपुत्त्रोऽन्योगुरुपुत्र: शतक्रतोः ।कदनंयस्यपुत्रेणकृतमेकेनरक्षसाम् ।।6.30.21।।
gadgadasyaiva puttro 'nyo guruputraḥ śatakratoḥ | kadanaṃ yasya putreṇa kṛtam ekena rakṣasām || 6.30.21 ||
Here too is another son of Gadgada—called ‘Guru’s son’, and Śatakratu’s (one). By his son alone a great slaughter of rākṣasas was accomplished.
Another son of Gadgada is Dhumra. One who killed many Rakshasas is Hanuman, the son of Kesari, who is the son of Brhaspati.
Dharma in leadership requires acknowledging merit and threat accurately; ignoring capable opponents leads to adharma through reckless governance.
Śārdūla continues enumerating notable vānaras and the scale of harm they can inflict, warning Rāvaṇa indirectly.
Valor and effectiveness in protecting one’s side—strength used decisively in a just cause.
