वानर-ऋक्ष-सेना-प्रशंसा (Cataloguing the Vanara and Bear Forces)
एषांमध्येस्थितोराजन्भीमाक्षोभीमदर्शनः ।पर्जन्यइवजीमूतैस्समन्तात्परिवारितः ।।।।ऋक्षवन्तंगिरिश्रेष्ठमध्यास्तेनर्मदांपिबन् ।सर्वऋक्षाणामधिपतिर्धूम्रोनामैषयूथपः ।।।।
eṣāṁ madhye sthito rājan bhīmākṣo bhīmadarśanaḥ |
parjanya iva jīmūtaiḥ samantāt parivāritaḥ ||
ṛkṣavantaṁ giriśreṣṭham adhyāste narmadāṁ piban |
sarvaṛkṣāṇām adhipatir dhūmro nāmaiṣa yūthapaḥ ||
O king, standing in the midst of these troops is one with terrible eyes and an awe-inspiring form, like Parjanya, the rain-god, surrounded on every side by clouds. He is Dhūmra, the troop-leader and lord of all the bears; he dwells upon the excellent mountain Ṛkṣavat and drinks the waters of the Narmadā.
"O king! In the midst of these (Vanaras) stands one with frightening eyes and fearful looks, just like Parjanya (RainGod) is surrounded by clouds, is the Lord of all these Bears called Dhumra. He dwells at the great Rkshavana mountain drinking Narmada's (river) water."
Vibhīṣaṇa speaks with factual clarity, identifying Dhūmra and his domain; such truthful reporting supports righteous decision-making in war and alliance-building.
Recognizing and honoring capable allies is part of rāja-dharma: it enables just leadership, coordinated protection of the righteous cause, and disciplined conduct in a war undertaken for restoring order.
