Shloka 6.24.24

लङ्कानिरीक्षणं व्यूहविन्यासश्च (Survey of Lanka and Deployment of the Battle Formation)

मोचितोरामवाक्येनवानरैश्चनिपीडितः ।शुकःपरमसन्त्रस्तोरक्षोधिपमुपागमत् ।।।।

mocito rāmavākyena vānaraiś ca nipīḍitaḥ |

śukaḥ paramasantrasto rakṣodhipam upāgamat ||

Freed by Rāma’s word—yet tormented by the Vānaras—Śuka, deeply terrified, returned to the lord of the Rākṣasas, Rāvaṇa.

Relieved by the word of Rama, tormented Suka who was highly terrified returned to the king of Rakshasas.

Even when dharma is upheld (freeing the envoy), wrongdoing leaves consequences: fear and suffering follow from hostile conduct on the battlefield.

After being released, Śuka goes back to Rāvaṇa, shaken by the Vanaras’ rough handling.

Rama’s adherence to righteous norms in diplomacy, contrasted with uncontrolled violence among some Vanaras.
