युद्धकाण्डे द्वितीयः सर्गः — Sugriva’s Counsel: From Grief to Strategy (Bridge to Lanka)
विक्रमेणसमानेष्येसीतांहत्वायथारिपुम् ।रावणंपापकर्माणंतथात्वंकर्तुमर्हसि ।।।।
vikrameṇa samāneṣye sītāṃ hatvā yathā ripum | rāvaṇaṃ pāpa-karmāṇaṃ tathā tvaṃ kartum arhasi ||
With valor we shall bring Sītā back, having slain the enemy—Rāvaṇa of sinful deeds. You should act so that this is accomplished.
"You ought to work such that we would kill that enemy Ravana of sinful deeds with our prowess and get back Sita. I hope you are capable of doing that."
Dharma is the restoration of justice: rescuing Sītā and ending Rāvaṇa’s adharmic violence is framed as a righteous duty, not personal vengeance.
Counsel is being given to Rāma before the assault on Laṅkā: the goal is clearly stated—defeat Rāvaṇa and reunite Sītā with Rāma.
Kṣātra-vīrya guided by righteousness—valor directed toward protecting dharma and the wronged.
