विभीषणाभिषेकः — The Consecration of Vibhishana and Counsel on Crossing the Ocean
तथ्यतद्वचनंश्रुत्वारामोवचनमब्रवीत् ।।6.19.6।।वचसासान्त्वयित्वैनंलोचनाभ्यांपिबन्निव ।आख्याहिममतत्त्वेनराक्षसानांबलाबलम् ।।6.19.7।।
tathyaṃ tadvacanaṃ śrutvā rāmo vacanam abravīt ||6.19.6||
vacasā sāntvayitvā enaṃ locanābhyāṃ pibann iva |
ākhyāhi mama tattvena rākṣasānāṃ balābalam ||6.19.7||
Hearing those truthful words, Rāma replied. Comforting him with gentle speech—gazing as though drinking him in with his eyes—he said: “Tell me truly the strengths and weaknesses of the Rākṣasas.”
"On hearing those words (of Vibheeshana) that were soothing to him as if he drank (Vibheeshana's love) with his both eyes, Rama asked Vibheeshana to truly relate the strength as well as weakness of the Rakshasas."
Satya-guided action: righteous leadership seeks accurate truth (tattva) before acting, combining compassion with strategic clarity.
Rāma accepts Vibhīṣaṇa with reassurance and then asks him to provide an honest assessment of the enemy’s capabilities.
Rāma’s compassionate discernment—he comforts a refugee-ally while also responsibly gathering truthful intelligence.
