अग्निपरीक्षासाक्ष्यं (Agni’s Testimony and Sītā’s Revalidation)
तरुणादित्यसङ्काशंतप्तकाञ्चनभूषणाम् ।रक्ताम्बरधरांबालांसीलकुञ्चितमूर्थजाम् ।।6.121.3।।अक्लिष्टमाल्याभरणांतथारूपामनिन्दिताम् ।ददौरामायवैदेहीमङ्केकृत्वाविभावसुः ।।6.121.4।।
ruddhā cāntaḥpure guptā tvacchittā tvatparāyaṇā |
rakṣitā rākṣasībhiś ca ghorābhir ghorabuddhibhiḥ ||
Confined and hidden within the inner apartments, her mind fixed on you and devoted to you alone, she was kept under guard by rākṣasī women—terrible, with terrible intentions.
Radiating like the rising sun, adorned with polished gold ornaments, wearing red coloured clothes, with beautiful black hair, wearing fresh flowers, being in the same young form as before, blameless Vaidehi was held in the arms of the fire god and presented to Rama.
Dharma includes steadfastness under oppression: inner loyalty and truth can remain intact even when external freedom is lost.
Agni describes Sītā’s captivity in Laṅkā’s inner quarters and the harsh guarding meant to break her resolve.
Single-minded devotion (tvatparāyaṇatā) and mental steadfastness despite coercive confinement.
