सीताया अग्निप्रवेशः (Sita’s Ordeal by Fire / Agni-Pariksha)

ददृशुस्तांविशालाक्षींपतन्तींहव्यवाहनम् ।।।।सीतांसर्वाणिरूपाणिरुक्मवेदिनिभांतदा ।

Transliteration

sā tapta-nava-hemābhā tapta-kāñcana-bhūṣaṇā |

papāta jvalanaṃ dīptaṃ sarva-lokasya sannidhau ||

Translation

She—shining like newly refined gold, adorned with glowing golden ornaments—fell into the blazing fire in the presence of all the people.

All created beings and forms witnessed large eyed Sita descending on the golden altar, into the fire like goddess of fortune descending on her vehicle.
