Having spoken thus, Vaidehī circumambulated the sacred fire and, fearless and inwardly composed, entered the blazing flames.
Young and old assembled there, and the gathering of people witnessed Mythili entering the flaming and burning fire.
It presents satya and self-certainty: Sītā stakes her honor on truth, demonstrating that dharma may require fearless commitment to one’s integrity even under public scrutiny.
Sītā completes her statement and begins the fire-ordeal by circumambulating Agni and stepping into the flames.
Fearlessness grounded in truth—inner steadiness (antarātmanā) in the face of extreme trial.
