रावणवधदर्शनम् — Lament of the Rākṣasa Women upon Seeing Rāvaṇa Slain
एवंवदन्त्योरुरुदुस्तस्यतादुःखिताःस्त्रियः ।भूयएव च दुःखार्ताविलेपुश्चपुनःपुनः ।।।।
evaṃ vadantyor ururudus tasya tā duḥkhitāḥ striyaḥ |
bhūya eva ca duḥkhārtā vilepuś ca punaḥ punaḥ ||6.113.17||
Speaking thus, those grief-stricken women wept aloud for him; tormented by sorrow, they wailed again and again.
Those women grieving in that way roared aloud, lamenting again and again cried, afflicted by sorrow.
Private sorrow becomes a public consequence when rulers choose adharma; collective suffering follows unethical leadership.
After the fall of Rāvaṇa, the women continue lamenting loudly, overcome by repeated waves of grief.
The verse chiefly highlights human vulnerability and the emotional cost of adharma rather than a single virtue.
