Shloka 6.11.5

रावणस्य सभाप्रवेशः (Ravana Enters the Royal Assembly and Summons Counsel)

असिचर्मधरायोधास्सर्वायुधधरास्ततः ।राक्षसाराक्षसेन्द्रस्यपुरस्तात्सम्प्रतस्थिरे ।।।।

rathaiś cātirathāḥ śīghraṃ mattaiś ca varavāraṇaiḥ |

anūtpetur daśagrīvaṃ ākrīḍadbhiś ca vājibhiḥ ||

Swiftly, the great chariot-fighters in their cars, riders upon excellent rut-maddened elephants, and others with spirited, prancing horses followed Daśagrīva.

Then soldiers wielding swords and different kinds of weapons stood in front of the Lord of Rakshasas.

The verse shows the scale of worldly power. In the Ramayana’s ethical frame, such power is to be restrained by dharma; otherwise, it becomes a vehicle for adharma despite its splendour.

As Rāvaṇa advances, an armed and mounted retinue—chariots, elephants, horses—moves behind him.

Organized might and military confidence (bala/utsāha) among followers.
