Then the rākṣasa warriors, bearing swords and shields and equipped with every kind of weapon, took their positions before the lord of the rākṣasas.

In that assembly, amid those heroes of great prowess, who held arms, Ravana glowed like Indra, who wields a diamond bolt in battle among the Vasus.।।इत्यार्षेवाल्मीकीयेश्रीमद्रामायणेआदिकाव्येयुद्धकाण्डेएकादशस्सर्गः ।।This is the end of the eleventh sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.

R
Rāvaṇa
R
Rākṣasas
W
weapons (asi, carma, āyudha)
R
royal assembly (implied court setting)

The verse illustrates ordered service and hierarchy. In dharmic polity, strength is organized under responsibility; the epic later critiques when such organized force supports adharma.

As Rāvaṇa proceeds toward/into the court, armed guards and warriors form up in front of him in formal attendance.

Discipline and readiness among the attendants; collective martial preparedness.
