लक्ष्मण-प्राणरक्षा: (Lakshmana’s Revival by the Herb-Mountain)

लज्जतीवहिवीर्यंभ्रश्यतीवकराद्धनुः ।सायकाव्यवसीदन्तिदृष्टिर्भाष्पवशंगता ।।।।

nairāśyam upagantuṃ ca nālaṃ te matkṛte 'nagha |

vadhena rāvaṇasyādya pratijñām anupālaya ||

O sinless one, it is not fitting for you to fall into despair on my account. Today, by slaying Rāvaṇa, uphold your vow.

'My heroism is shy, my bow slips from my hand, arrows are dropping, my vision is blurred with tears with my brother gone.'

pratijñā (vow)

A leader must not abandon righteous duty due to personal sorrow; dharma requires steadiness, and satya requires completing what was vowed.

An ally urges Rāma not to despair and to complete the central war-duty: the destruction of Rāvaṇa.

Fortitude (dhṛti): the ability to rise above grief and act according to pledged duty.
