लक्ष्मण-प्राणरक्षा: (Lakshmana’s Revival by the Herb-Mountain)
यथैवमांवनंयान्तमनुयातिमहाद्युतिः ।अहमप्युपयास्यामितथैवैनंयमक्षयम् ।।।।
yathaiva māṃ vanaṃ yāntam anuyāti mahādyutiḥ | aham apy upayāsyāmi tathaivainaṃ yamakṣayam ||
Just as the radiant Lakṣmaṇa followed me when I went to the forest, so too will I follow him now—to the imperishable abode of Yama, the Lord of Death.
'Lakshmana who is endowed with splendour followed me to the forest. In the same way I will follow him to the god of death.'
Reciprocal fidelity: Rama frames brotherhood as a sacred bond of mutual commitment, where loyalty is answered by loyalty.
In grief, Rama recalls Lakṣmaṇa’s earlier devotion during exile and declares he will not outlive him.
Gratitude and steadfast attachment to dharmic companionship.
