O hero, even victory brings me no joy. What delight can the moon give to one for whom it is no longer within the reach of sight?

'O Hero! Even victory for me will not give joy. What pleasure will one have if he desires to see the moon when he has lost vision?'

Ends do not justify themselves apart from dharma and relationship: Rama rejects hollow triumph when it is severed from love, duty, and the wellbeing of the righteous.

Rama addresses Suṣeṇa after Lakṣmaṇa is struck, expressing that conquest is meaningless if Lakṣmaṇa is lost.

Loyalty and gratitude—valuing persons over outcomes.
