रावण–रामयुद्धप्रारम्भः (The Intensification of the Rama–Ravana Duel)

पूरिता तेन शब्देन स नदीगिरिकानना ।

सञ्चचाल मही सर्वा त्रस्तसिंहमृगद्विजा ॥6.100.7॥

Transliteration

pūritā tena śabdena sa nadīgirikānanā |

sañcacāla mahī sarvā trastasiṃhamṛgadvijā ||6.100.7||

Translation

Filled by that sound, the earth—with its rivers, mountains, and forests—shook, and lions, beasts, and birds were seized with terror.

The great soul Dasarathi encountered the missiles released by Ravana rendering them void. Sugriva the Lord of monkeys overpowered by happiness spoke as follows.।। itayāraṣēvālamīkīyēśarīmadarāmāyaṇēādikāvayēyudadhakāṇaḍēśatatamasasaragaḥ ।।This is the end of the hundredth sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
