Shloka 5.67.14
अभिज्ञानवृत्तान्त-प्रत्यायनम् (Token of Recognition and the Crow–Brahmāstra Episode)
स पित्रा च परित्यक्तस्सुरैश्च समहर्षिभिः।त्रीन् लोकान् सम्परिक्रम्य त्रातारं नाधिगच्छति।।।।
sa pitrā ca parityaktaḥ suraiś ca sa-maharṣibhiḥ | trīn lokān samparikramya trātāraṃ nādhigacchati ||
Abandoned by his father, and even by the gods together with the great sages, he wandered through the three worlds—yet found no protector.
'He was abandoned by his father, even by great sages and gods. Then he went round the three worlds but could not find a saviour.
The verse points to the moral order that wrongdoing can isolate the offender from all support; mere power or status cannot guarantee refuge when one violates dharma.
Sītā recalls the crow-episode: the offender, rejected even by higher beings, searches the worlds for protection—setting up the necessity of genuine refuge (śaraṇāgati) before Rāma.
Rāma’s role as the true protector of those who seek refuge is implied—his capacity to uphold justice while still being a final shelter for the repentant.
