सीतावृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् / Report of Sītā’s Condition and Tokens of Recognition
तौ जाताश्वासौ राजपुत्रौ विदित्वा तच्चाभिज्ञानं राघवाय प्रदाय।देव्या चाख्यातं सर्वमेवानुपूर्व्याद्वाचा सम्पूर्णं वायुपुत्त्र श्शशंस।।।।
vaidēhīm akṣatāṃ śrutvā rāmas tūttaram abravīt |
kva sītā vartate devī kathaṃ ca mayi vartate |
etan me sarvam ākhyāta vaidēhīṃ prati vānarāḥ ||
Hearing that Vaidehi was unharmed, Rama said: “Where is the divine Sita, and what is her disposition toward me? Tell me everything about Vaidehi.”
Coming to know that the two princes were sighing in relief, Hanuman presented the token of identification given by Sita to Rama, after having communicated in full the messsage of Sita in an orderly manner.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē sundarakāṇḍē pañcaṣaṣṭitamassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the sixtyfifth sarga of Sundarakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma as fidelity and care: Rama seeks truthful details about Sita’s welfare and her unwavering bond.
This verse repeats the prior query (a numbering/recension artifact): Rama asks for Sita’s whereabouts and feelings.
