राक्षसेन्द्रनिवेशनविचारः (Survey of Ravana’s Residence and Lanka’s Inner Quarters)
रक्तान् श्वेतान् सितांश्चैव हरींश्चापि महाजवान्।।।।कुलीनान् रूपसम्पन्नान् गजान्परगजारुजान्।निष्ठितान् गजशिक्षयामैरावतसमान्युधि।।।।निहन्त्रून् परसैन्यानां गृहे तस्मिन् ददर्श सः।क्षरतश्च यथा मेघान् स्रवतश्च यथा गिरीन्।।।।मेघसन्ततिनिर्घोषान् दुर्धर्षान् समरे परैः।
raktān śvetān sitāṁś caiva harīṁś cāpi mahājavān ||5.6.31||
He beheld swift horses—red, white, and also of pale hue.
He saw horses of high speed in red, white and cream colours. He saw beautiful, wellbred elephants, which were not inferior to the enemy's. They were welltrained and had proved equal to Airavata (Indra's elephant) in battles. Resembling the thundering clouds, they were unassailable to the enemy in war and were trumpeting like a cluster of clouds.
The verse supports the dharma of truthful witnessing: Hanumān notes the enemy’s resources without exaggeration, serving a righteous mission with accurate knowledge.
Hanumān continues observing the military wealth inside Rāvaṇa’s residence, beginning with the horses.
