Shloka 5.59.4

हनूमद्वृत्तान्तः—वानरबलप्रशंसा च (Hanuman’s Report and Praise of the Vanara Host)

तस्य तां स्पृशतो गात्रं तपसा न विनाशितम्।न तदग्निशिखा कुर्यात्संस्पृष्टा पाणिना सती।।।।जनकस्यात्मजा कुर्याद्यत्क्रोधकलुषीकृता।

tasya tāṃ spṛśato gātraṃ tapasā na vināśitam |

na tad-agniśikhā kuryāt saṃspṛṣṭā pāṇinā satī ||

janakasyātmajā kuryād yat krodha-kaluṣīkṛtā ||

Though he touched her, her body did not consume him, by the power of his austerities. Not even a flame of fire could do what a virtuous woman, touched by his hand, could do; for Janaka’s daughter, if darkened by wrath, could indeed accomplish it.

"Sita can burn Ravana with the mere touch of her body but because of the power of his penance, he was not burnt even though he touched her hand. If enraged, Janaki can burn the whole world (by virtue of her chastity) in a way that even the flame of fire can not do. (But she desired that her husband should kill him.)

It highlights Sita’s dharma as a satī—her moral and spiritual power is immense, yet it is restrained by righteousness and purpose: she does not act out of personal rage, aligning her conduct with the larger dharmic aim that Rama should confront adharma.

Satya appears in the idea that inner truth and purity (Sita’s chastity and integrity) have real force; however, truthful strength is not mere power-display—it is governed by right intention and fidelity to the rightful course of action.
