Shloka 5.59.27
हनूमद्वृत्तान्तः—वानरबलप्रशंसा च (Hanuman’s Report and Praise of the Vanara Host)
पतिव्रता च सुश्रोणी अवष्टब्धा च जानकी।।।।अनुरक्ता हि वैदेही रामं सर्वात्मना शुभा।अनन्यचित्ता रामे च पौलोमीव पुरन्दरे।।।।
pativratā ca suśroṇī avaṣṭabdhā ca jānakī | anuraktā hi vaidehī rāmaṃ sarvātmanā śubhā | ananyacittā rāme ca paulomīva purandare ||
Janaki—chaste and fair-hipped—though restrained, remained auspicious and steadfast. Vaidehi was devoted to Rama with her whole being, her mind fixed on him alone, like Paulomi (Śacī) upon Purandara (Indra).
"Chaste Sita of beautiful hips, an auspicious lady though bound is wholly devoted to Rama alone like Sachi, the wife of Indra who was bound by Nahusha.
Dharma here is marital fidelity and inner truth (satya) of commitment: Sita’s mind remains unwaveringly aligned with Rama, showing that righteousness is preserved by steadfast intention.
Hanuman reassures Rama by describing Sita’s chastity and unwavering devotion, despite her confinement in Lanka.
