Shloka 5.59.22
हनूमद्वृत्तान्तः—वानरबलप्रशंसा च (Hanuman’s Report and Praise of the Vanara Host)
मयैव निहता लङ्का दग्धा भस्मीकृता पुनः।राजमार्गेषु सर्वत्र नाम विश्रावितं मया।।।।
mayaiva nihatā laṅkā dagdhā bhasmīkṛtā punaḥ | rājamārgeṣu sarvatra nāma viśrāvitaṃ mayā ||
By me alone Laṅkā was struck down—burned and again reduced to ashes; and along the royal highways everywhere, my name was proclaimed.
"I have burnt Lanka and have made my name popular even on the highways.
Even when recounting great feats, dharma demands truthful reporting (satya) and accountability: Hanuman openly attributes the act to himself, framing it as part of the righteous campaign against Ravana’s wrongdoing.
