Shloka 5.53.7

लाङ्गूलदाह-पर्यटनम् (The Burning Tail and the Parade through Laṅkā)

संवेष्ट्यमाने लाङ्गूले व्यवर्धत महाकपिः।शुष्कमिन्धनमासाद्य वनेष्विव हुताशनः।।5.53.7।।

saṁveṣṭyamāne lāṅgūle vyavardhata mahākapiḥ | śuṣkam indhanam āsādya vaneṣv iva hutāśanaḥ || 5.53.7 ||

As his tail was being wrapped, the great monkey grew ever larger—like a forest fire that surges when it finds dry fuel in the woods.

While the tail was being swathed, the great vanara grew in size like wild fire fed with dry fire-wood.

Hanumān

Steadfast resolve in righteous purpose: Hanumān’s inner strength rises in the face of cruelty, signaling that dharmic duty can intensify courage rather than diminish it.

Rākṣasas begin wrapping Hanumān’s tail as part of a public humiliation and punishment; instead of weakening, he deliberately grows larger, preparing for the next act.

Vīrya (heroic power) joined with dhairya (steadfast composure): he converts an imposed suffering into strategic advantage.
