Shloka 5.53.22
लाङ्गूलदाह-पर्यटनम् (The Burning Tail and the Parade through Laṅkā)
चत्वरेषु चतुष्केषु राजमार्गे तथैव च।।5.53.22।।घोषयन्ति कपिं सर्वे चारीक इति राक्षसाः।
catvareṣu catuṣkeṣu rāja-mārge tathaiva ca | ghoṣayanti kapiṃ sarve cārīka iti rākṣasāḥ ||5.53.22||
At the squares, at the four-pillared junctions, and along the royal road as well, all the rākṣasas proclaim: “This monkey is a spy.”
All the demons went forth through cross roads, altars built on four pillars and royal roads announcing that he (Hanuman) was a spy.
It highlights how public labeling can be used as political control; dharma calls for discernment and fair judgment rather than mob proclamation.
Rākṣasas parade Hanumān through the city and announce to the populace that he is an enemy spy.
Hanumān’s fearlessness and endurance under humiliation.
