रावणदर्शनम् — Hanuman Beholds Ravana in Court
बाहुभिर्बद्धकेयूरैश्चन्दनोत्तमरूषितैः।भ्राजमानाङ्गदैः पीनैः पञ्चशीर्षैरिवोरगैः।।5.49.8।।
iti cintāṃ bahuvidhām akarot matimān hariḥ ||5.49.20||
dṛṣṭvā rākṣasarājasya prabhāvam amitaujasaḥ |
Thus the wise Hanumān turned over many kinds of thoughts, having beheld the might and awe-inspiring power of the rākṣasa-king, whose energy seemed immeasurable.
Adorned with armlets (keyura), smeared with choicest sandal paste, his shining, stout armlets appeared like many five-hooded serpents (fingers appearing like hoods).
Dharma-guided action is preceded by careful reflection; wisdom weighs consequences before acting, especially amid danger.
The sarga closes with Hanumān thoughtfully processing what he has observed of Rāvaṇa’s power while continuing his mission in Laṅkā.
Prudence (viveka)—Hanumān’s intelligence expresses itself as deliberate, multi-angle thinking rather than rash heroics.
