षट्चत्वारिंशः सर्गः — Ravana Deploys Five Generals; Hanuman Destroys the Commanders and the Remaining Host
ततस्तेष्ववसन्नेषु सेनापतिषु पञ्चसु।।।।बलं तदवशेषं च नाशयामास वानरः।
tatas teṣv avasanneṣu senāpatiṣu pañcasu |
balaṃ tad-avaśeṣaṃ ca nāśayāmāsa vānaraḥ ||
Then, when the five commanders had fallen, the vānara set about destroying the remaining troops as well.
When the five army chiefs were killed, Hanuman began to destoy the remaining army force.
Dharma is framed as completing a necessary task once begun: after neutralizing leadership that drives violence, Hanumān prevents further harm by disabling the remaining hostile force.
After the rākṣasa commanders are slain, Hanumān turns to the rest of the enemy troops and routs them.
Kārya-siddhi (effective accomplishment of duty) joined with steadiness under pressure.
