अभिज्ञानदानम् / The Gift of Recognition (Sita’s Token and Resolve)
वैदेह्या वचनं श्रुत्वा करुणं साश्रु भाषितम्।अथाब्रवीन्महातेजा हनुमान्मारुतात्मजः।।5.40.12।।
vaidehyā vacanaṃ śrutvā karuṇaṃ sāśru bhāṣitam | athābravīn mahātejā hanumān mārutātmajaḥ ||
Hearing Vaidehī’s compassionate words, spoken through tears, the radiant Hanumān—the son of the Wind—then replied.
Hearing the words of Sita who was weeping piteously, brilliant Hanuman said this:
Dharma as compassionate duty: Hanumān responds responsibly to suffering, offering steadiness and truthful reassurance rather than panic.
After Sītā’s tearful speech, Hanumān begins his consoling reply.
Karunā (compassion) joined with courage and clarity in speech.
