हनूमत्सीतासंवादः — Hanuman’s Offer of Rescue and Sita’s Dharmic Refusal

कामं त्वमसि पर्याप्तो निहन्तुं सर्वराक्षसान्।राघवस्य यशो हीयेत्त्वया शस्तैस्तु राक्षसैः।।।।

kāmaṃ tvam asi paryāpto nihantuṃ sarvarākṣasān | rāghavasya yaśo hīyet tvayā śastais tu rākṣasaiḥ ||

Even if you are fully able to slay all the rākṣasas, Rāghava’s fame would be diminished if those rākṣasas were killed by you.

"It may be that you can kill all the demons but by such an act the fame of Rama will be diminished. (He cannot give his strength a trial)

Maryādā-dharma (role-appropriate righteousness): Sītā implies that Rāma must be the principal agent of justice against Rāvaṇa’s forces; otherwise the rightful glory of dharmic victory is displaced.

Sītā discourages Hanumān from resolving the conflict alone in Laṅkā, arguing that even total victory by him would lessen Rāma’s rightful renown.

Respect for rightful agency—Sītā upholds Rāma’s dharmic responsibility and honor as the one to defeat adharma.
