हनूमत्सीतासंवादः
Hanuman’s Offer of Rescue and Sita’s Dharmic Refusal
न च शक्ष्ये त्वया सार्धं गन्तुं शत्रुविनाशन।कलत्रवति सन्देहस्त्वय्यपि स्यादसंशयः।।।।
na ca śakṣye tvayā sārdhaṃ gantuṃ śatru-vināśana | kalatravati sandehas tvayy api syād asaṃśayaḥ ||
And I cannot go with you, O destroyer of foes. Burdened with a woman, you too would surely face doubt and danger.
"O destroyer of foes, it is not possible for me to go with you. Further, when you are burdened with a woman you will also fall into danger (because of me), no doubt.
Dharma includes non-harm and duty to the mission: Sītā refuses a course that could endanger the messenger and jeopardize the larger righteous objective.
Sītā concludes her practical objections: traveling with her could slow or imperil Hanuman and introduce uncertainty into his return.
Sītā’s self-sacrificing responsibility—she prioritizes the mission’s success and Hanuman’s safety over immediate personal rescue.
