सीताप्रत्यय-प्रदानम् (Sita’s Recognition and Reassurance by the Envoy)
प्रेषयिष्यति दुर्धर्षो रामो न ह्यपरीक्षितम्।पराक्रममविज्ञाय मत्सकाशं विशेषतः।।।।
preṣayiṣyati durdharṣo rāmo na hy aparīkṣitam |
parākramam avijñāya mat-sakāśaṁ viśeṣataḥ ||
Formidable Rāma would not send someone untested—without knowing his valor—especially to my presence.
"The formidable Rama will not send any one specially to me without testing him or knowing his valour.
Dharma includes prudence: leaders must verify competence and reliability before entrusting sensitive missions.
Sītā argues that if Hanumān truly comes from Rāma, then Rāma must have assessed him, since approaching Sītā in Laṅkā is extremely perilous.
Rāma’s responsible leadership (yukti with dharma): careful testing and knowledge of capability before action.
