Shloka 5.34.8

सीताहनूमद्भाषणम् — Sita Tests the Messenger; Hanuman Offers Reassurance

तस्यास्तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा हनुमान्हरियूथपः।सीतायाश्शोकदीनायास्समीपमुपचक्रमे।।।।

tasyās tad-vacanaṃ śrutvā hanumān hari-yūthapaḥ | sītāyāḥ śoka-dīnāyāḥ samīpam upacakrame ||

Having heard her words, Hanumān, the leader among the monkey-troops, moved closer to Sītā, who was piteous with grief.

Hearing the reply of Sita, who was crying piteously, stricken with grief, the monkey leader, Hanuman moved close to her.

Dharma is compassionate service—one who is capable should draw near to relieve suffering, but do so with sensitivity to the vulnerable.

After hearing Sītā’s response, Hanumān physically approaches her to continue the exchange and offer reassurance.

Hanumān’s empathy and readiness to help, expressed through attentive listening followed by careful action.
