हनुमता सीतासंवादोपायचिन्ता — Hanuman’s Deliberation on How to Address Sita

न विनश्येत्कथं कार्यं वैक्लब्यं न कथं भवेत्।।।।लङ्घनं च समुद्रस्य कथं नु न वृथा भवेत्।

na vinaśyet kathaṃ kāryaṃ vaiklabyaṃ na kathaṃ bhavet | laṅghanaṃ ca samudrasya kathaṃ nu na vṛthā bhavet ||

How can the task not be ruined? How can failure not arise? And how can my crossing of the ocean not end in vain?

"How can the mission succeed? How can failure of mission be avoided? How can the crossing of the great ocean be not wasted?"

H
Hanumān
S
Samudra (ocean)

Dharma is purposeful action: effort must be aligned with a clear, beneficial outcome; Hanumān seeks to ensure his great undertaking serves truth and the mission rather than becoming empty exertion.

Having crossed the ocean and located Sītā, Hanumān focuses on preventing any misstep that could nullify the entire expedition.

Purpose-driven perseverance—he measures success by mission completion, not mere daring.
