हनुमता सीतासंवादोपायचिन्ता — Hanuman’s Deliberation on How to Address Sita
यदि वाचं प्रदास्यामि द्विजातिरिव संस्कृताम्।रावणं मन्यमाना मां सीता भीता भविष्यति।।।।वानरस्य विशेषेण कथं स्यादभिभाषणम्।
ahaṃ tv atitanuś caiva vānaraś ca viśeṣataḥ | vācaṃ codāhariṣyāmi mānuṣīm iha saṃskṛtām ||
Though my body is very small—and above all I am a Vānara—I shall here adopt human speech, in refined and noble Sanskrit.
"If I speak like a brahmin in sanskrit language she would be frightened thinking that I am Ravana and how would a vanara speak?
Dharma as appropriateness in communication: one must choose a form of speech that best serves truth and reassurance in a sensitive situation.
