हनुमता सीतासंवादोपायचिन्ता — Hanuman’s Deliberation on How to Address Sita
रामश्च यदि पृच्छेन्मां किं मां सीताब्रवीद्वचः।किमहं तं प्रति ब्रूयामसंभाष्य सुमध्यमाम्।।।।
rāmaśca yadi pṛcchenmāṃ kiṃ māṃ sītābravīdvacaḥ |
kimahaṃ taṃ prati brūyāmasaṃbhāṣya sumadhyamām || 5.30.13 ||
And if Rāma were to ask me, “What message did Sītā speak to you?” what could I truthfully tell him, without having met and spoken with that fair-waisted lady?
"If Rama enquires about the message of Sita, this lady of beautiful waist, what can I speak without meeting and talking to her?
Satya (truth) as Dharma: Hanumān refuses to return with vague or second-hand claims; he wants direct, truthful communication with Sītā so his report to Rāma is accurate and morally sound.
Hanumān anticipates Rāma’s question about Sītā’s message and realizes he must actually speak with Sītā to deliver a reliable report.
Integrity and accountability: he will not mislead Rāma with incomplete information.
