Hanuman Enters Lanka and Encounters Laṅkā-devatā
नेयमन्येन नगरी शक्या धर्षयितुं बलात्।रक्षिता रावणबलैरुद्यतायुधधारिभिः।।।।
neyam anyena nagarī śakyā dharṣayituṃ balāt |
rakṣitā rāvaṇabalair udyatāyudhadhāribhiḥ ||
This city cannot be assaulted by force by any other, for it is guarded by Rāvaṇa’s hosts—warriors bearing weapons poised for battle.
'It is not possible to attack this city by to outsiders as it is protected by the forces of Ravana with their weapons ready(to attack).
Dharma cautions against reckless violence: even a righteous cause requires appropriate means; prudence and proportional action prevent needless loss.
Hanumān assesses Laṅkā’s military preparedness and recognizes the difficulty of a direct assault.
