mānuṣī mānuṣasyaiva bhāryātvaṃ bahumanyase |

pratyāhara mano rāmān na tvaṃ jātu bhaviṣyasi || 5.24.3 ||

You are but a human woman, yet you prize being the wife of a mere human. Turn your mind away from Rāma—otherwise you will not live.

'You are a woman, wife of Rama, an ordinary mortal you are holding in high esteem. Withdraw your mind from Rama or else you will not survive.

S
Sītā
R
Rāma

It attacks dharma by belittling marital fidelity as ‘mere human’ and backing the demand with a death threat; the Ramayana treats steadfast fidelity and truth as higher than fear of death.

The rākṣasīs attempt to sever Sītā’s emotional bond to Rāma through ridicule and intimidation.

Constancy (niṣṭhā): Sītā’s unwavering devotion to her dharmic marriage despite threats.
