Shloka 5.24.14

सीताभर्त्सना — The Ogresses’ Threats to Sita and Her Vow of Fidelity

अवलीनः स निर्वाक्यो हनूमान् शिंशुपाद्रुमे।।5.24.14।।यसीतां सन्तर्जयन्तीस्ता राक्षसीरशृणोत् कपिः।

avalīnaḥ sa nirvākyo hanūmān śiṃśupādrume ॥5.24.14॥

yaḥ sītāṃ santarjayantīs tā rākṣasīr aśṛṇot kapiḥ ।

Hidden in the śiṃśupā tree and holding his tongue, Hanumān listened as the rākṣasīs threatened Sītā.

Hanuman who kept himself concealed on the simsupa tree speechlessly listened to the ogresses threatening Sita.
