अशोकवनिकायां सीतादर्शनम् (Sita Seen in the Ashoka Grove)
स वीक्षमाणस्तत्रस्थो मार्गमाणश्च मैथिलीम्।अवेक्षमाणश्च महीं सर्वां तामन्ववैक्षत।।।।
sa vīkṣamāṇas tatrastho mārgamāṇaś ca maithilīm | avekṣamāṇaś ca mahīṃ sarvāṃ tām anvavaikṣata ||
Stationed there, he kept looking—searching for Maithilī—and, gazing down, he carefully surveyed the entire ground below.
Hanuman looked out from the simsupa tree all around for Mythili scanning the ground below.
Dharma appears as conscientious duty: Hanumān’s careful, methodical search reflects responsible action and commitment to truth—he must see correctly and report faithfully.
At the beginning of the next chapter, Hanumān remains in position and intensifies his search by scanning the ground thoroughly for Sītā.
Diligence and attention: Hanumān’s thorough observation is a form of disciplined service.
