Shloka 5.12.19
द्वादशः सर्गः — हनूमतः अन्तःपुरविचयः (Hanuman’s Search Through Ravana’s Inner Apartments)
राक्षस्यो विविधाकारा विरूपा विकृतास्तथा।दृष्टा हनुमता तत्र न तु सा जनकात्मजा।।।।
rākṣasyo vividhākārā virūpā vikṛtās tathā |
dṛṣṭā hanumatā tatra na tu sā janakātmajā ||
There he saw ogresses of many kinds—hideous and misshapen—but he did not see that daughter of Janaka.
Hanuman could see only ogresses of different types-ugly, deformed but could not find the daughter of Janaka.
Satya (truthfulness to reality) and steadiness: even amid frightening sights, one must keep focus on the righteous objective.
Hanumān continues searching within Laṅkā; he encounters many rākṣasīs but still cannot locate Sītā.
Single-pointed purpose—he does not get distracted by fear or revulsion from what he sees.
