Shloka 5.1.76

समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing

दशयोजनविस्तीर्णा त्रिंशद्योजनमायता।छाया वानरसिंहस्य जले चारुतराभवत्।।।।

daśayojanavistīrṇā triṃśadyojanamāyatā | chāyā vānarasiṃhasya jale cārutarābhavat ||

In the water, the shadow of that lion among monkeys appeared most striking—ten yojanas broad and thirty yojanas long.

The shadow of Hanuman, the lion among monkeys, thirty yojanas long and ten yojanas in breadth appeared more pleasing৷৷

As Hanumān flies, the ocean surface reflects a vast shadow, illustrating his enlarged form and speed.

Mahattva (greatness): his expanded capacity to serve is portrayed through superhuman scale.
