Seeing him, cloud-like in form, stretched to ten yojanas, Surasā too expanded her mouth to twenty yojanas.
Seeing his body stretched to ten yojanas like a cloud, Surasa also widened her mouth to twenty yojanas.
Dharma here appears as steadfastness under trial: Hanumān adapts his means without abandoning his righteous mission (seeking Sītā), meeting a divine test without panic.
While flying over the ocean, Hanumān is tested by Surasā, who expands her mouth to block his passage as he enlarges his body.
Resourceful courage (dhairya + yukti): Hanumān responds intelligently and fearlessly to an escalating obstacle.
