समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing

भूयश्चोर्ध्वं गतिं प्राप्य गिरिं तमवलोकयन्।वायुसूनुर्निरालम्बे जगाम विमलेऽम्बरे।।।।

Transliteration

bhūyaś cordhvaṃ gatiṃ prāpya giriṃ tam avalokayan | vāyu-sūnur nirālambe jagāma vimale ’mbare ||

Translation

Ascending still higher and continuing his course, the son of the Wind moved through the pure, supportless sky, glancing back at that mountain.

Rising higher and further up and looking at the mountain (which was going down into the ocean), the son of the Wind-god coursed through the cloudless sky unsupported.
