समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
इत्युक्त्वा पाणिना शैलमालभ्य हरिपुङ्गवः।जगामाकाशमाविश्य वीर्यवान् प्रहसन्निव।।।।
ity uktvā pāṇinā śailam ālabhya haripuṅgavaḥ |
jagāmākāśam āviśya vīryavān prahasann iva ||
Having spoken thus, the heroic chief of monkeys gently touched the mountain with his hand, then entered the sky and departed, as though with a quiet smile.
Having said this, the mighty monkey gently touched the mountain with his hands before ascending to the sky with a smile on his face.
Dharma as balanced conduct: Hanuman shows respect to the host (a gentle touch of acknowledgment) while not abandoning his duty.
After declining to rest, Hanuman courteously acknowledges Maināka and resumes his flight across the ocean.
Courtesy without compromise—politeness joined to unwavering purpose.
