सम्पातेः पक्षलाभः — Sampāti Regains His Wings and Re-energizes the Search
तस्या विलपितं श्रुत्वा तौ च सीताविनाकृतौ।।।।न मे दशरथस्नेहात्पुत्रेणोत्पादितं प्रियम्।
tasyā vilapitaṃ śrutvā tau ca sītā-vinākṛtau |
na me daśaratha-snehāt putreṇotpāditaṃ priyam ||
Even after hearing her lament and knowing that those two were separated from Sītā, my son’s conduct did not please me—especially because of my affection and friendship for Daśaratha.
'Even after hearing the wailing of Sita, knowing that both (Rama and Lakshmana) are separated from her and considering my friendship with Dasaratha, I felt displeased with my son (as he did not make an attempt to rescue her)'.
Dharma includes fidelity to bonds of friendship and compassion toward suffering; ignoring another’s distress is ethically blameworthy.
