O mighty-armed one, your wife is like food laced with poison—no one can consume her without ruin. Cast off grief, O mighty-armed; I will bring that beloved one back to you.

'O longarmed Rama, take these words of mine as true. Your consort cannot be absorbed with impunity even by the denizens of heaven including Indra or the ogres on earth any more than food cooked with poison.Give up grief.

Sita (implied)

Dharma includes strengthening the righteous through hope and truthful assurance; Sugriva urges Rama to relinquish debilitating grief so that justice and rescue can proceed.

Sugriva continues consoling Rama, using a strong simile to say Sita cannot be enjoyed or dominated by evil without consequences, and repeats his vow to recover her.

Encouraging leadership and steadfast friendship—Sugriva acts as a moral supporter who redirects sorrow into purposeful action.
