पृथिवीमण्डलपरिज्ञानम् — Sugriva on Surveying the Earth’s Regions
सुग्रीवस्तु ततो राममुवाच प्रणतात्मवान्।श्रूयतां सर्वमाख्यास्ये विस्तरेण नरर्षभ।।।।
sampaśyan vividhān deśān astaṁ ca girisattamam |
prāpya cāstaṁ giriśreṣṭham uttarāṁ sampradhāvitaḥ ||
Seeing many lands, I reached the excellent mountain called Asta, the mountain of sunset; and upon reaching that foremost peak, I ran on toward the northern quarter.
Then offering reverential salutation to Rama, Sugriva said, 'I shall narrate in detail. Listen, O bull among men !
Dharma is the continued search for rightful shelter and stability; the narrative models persistence guided by hope rather than vengeance.
Sugrīva describes reaching the ‘sunset’ mountain and then fleeing onward to the north.
Determination—continuing the quest for safety across vast regions.
