हनूमद्-दूत्यम् / Hanuman’s Mediation and Lakshmana’s Appeal to Sugriva

भार्यया च महातेजास्सीतयाऽनुगतो वशी।दिनक्षये महातेजाः प्रभयेव दिवाकरः।।

bhāryayā ca mahātejāḥ sītayā ’nugato vaśī | dinakṣaye mahātejāḥ prabhayā iva divākaraḥ ||

That radiant, self-controlled prince was accompanied by his wife Sītā—like the glorious Sun at day’s end is followed by its own light.

'This glorious Rama was followed by his wife, Sita, like the rays of the effulgent Sun follow him to the end of the day.

The verse highlights dharma within marriage and life-choices: Sītā’s devoted companionship and Rāma’s self-mastery sustain righteousness even in hardship.

Lakṣmaṇa describes how Sītā accompanied Rāma into exile, using a cosmic simile to convey inseparability.

Sītā’s steadfast loyalty and Rāma’s self-control (vaśitva), presented as mutually reinforcing virtues.
