(Sugriva’s Reassurance and Lakshmana’s Counsel)
sītāṃ prāpsyati dharmātmā vadhiṣyati ca rāvaṇam |
sahāyamātreṇa mayā rāghavaḥ svena tejasā ||
The righteous Rāghava will recover Sītā, and by his own splendor he will slay Rāvaṇa—while I serve only as a helper.
'Righteous Rama can merely restore Sita with my assistance. By his own fiery energy he will kill Ravana.
Righteousness ultimately prevails through dharmic power; allies should serve faithfully without ego, accepting a supportive role in a just cause.
Sugriva reassures Lakshmana of Rama’s inevitable victory and positions the Vānara support as assistance, not the primary source of Rama’s power.
Sevā-bhāva (service-attitude) and humility: Sugriva defines his role as supportive rather than self-glorifying.
