In this combined numbering, the same portrayal continues: Lakṣmaṇa, obedient and wise, weighed the fitting reply and its wording; and, stirred by love and anger and wrapped in his brother’s blazing wrath, he departed displeased like a storm-wind.

Then Lakshmana, obedient, intelligent like Brihaspati, like a tempest, encompassed by the fire of anger and deliberating in his mind as to the possible questions from Sugriva and the reply from him.

Dharma is the restraint that keeps righteous purpose from turning into reckless speech or action: Lakṣmaṇa’s anger is real, but he prepares a reasoned response aligned with duty.

Lakṣmaṇa is on the way to confront the delay in Sugrīva’s promised assistance, anticipating questions and preparing answers.

Prudent loyalty: steadfast commitment to Rāma’s cause combined with thoughtful counsel.
