प्रस्रवणगिरिवासवर्णनम् (Residence on Mount Prasravana; Counsel during the Rains)
शार्दूलमृगसङ्घुष्टं सिंहैर्भीमरवैर्वृतम्।नानागुल्मलतागूढं बहुपादपसङ्कुलम्4.27.2।।ऋक्षवानरगोपुच्छैर्मार्जारैश्च निषेवितम्।मेघराशिनिभं शैलं नित्यं शुचिजलाशयम्।।4.27.3।।
śārdūlamṛgasaṅghuṣṭaṃ siṃhair bhīmaravair vṛtam |
nānāgulmalatāgūḍhaṃ bahupādapasaṅkulam || 4.27.2 ||
ṛkṣavānaragopucchair mārjāraiś ca niṣevitam |
megharāśinibhaṃ śailaṃ nityaṃ śucijalāśayam || 4.27.3 ||
That mountain rang with the calls of tigers and deer, encircled by lions with dreadful roars; it was hidden by many shrubs and creepers and crowded with diverse trees. It was frequented by bears, monkeys, apes, and wildcats; cloud-mass-like in appearance, it always held pools of pure water.
The (Prasravana) mountain reverberated with the terrific roars of tigers and deer and lions. There were several kinds of shrubs, creepers and trees.It was inhabited by bears, apes, monkeys and wild cats in large number. The mountain was like a huge cluster of clouds. The waters in the ponds were pure.
Dharma includes living rightly within the natural world: the forest is portrayed as powerful and ordered, demanding humility and non-disruptive conduct from those who pass through.
The narrator describes the formidable yet resource-rich Prasravaṇa mountain where Rama and Lakshmana are present.
