वालिविलापः — Vali’s Final Counsel and the Succession Charge

तद्वालिवचनाच्छान्तः कुर्वन्युक्तमतन्द्रितः।जग्राह सोऽभ्यनुज्ञातो मालां तां चैव काञ्चनीम्।।

Transliteration

tad-vāli-vacanāc chāntaḥ kurvan yuktam atandritaḥ | jagrāha so 'bhyanujñāto mālāṃ tāṃ caiva kāñcanīm ||

Translation

Calmed by Vāli’s words and free of resentment, he did what was fitting; with Vāli’s permission, he accepted that very golden garland.

Context

On hearing Vali's words, Sugriva became composed with no ill-feeling. Considering it to be proper, he received with his permission the golden necklace.
